The Neurorehabilitation Research Laboratory at TIRR Memorial Hermann Research Center is seeking a highly motivated researcher to join the laboratory and contribute to ongoing projects. The research laboratory is part of Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at the University of Texas – Medical School at Houston. The lab is housed in the outpatient clinic at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital that allows easy and convenient access to patient populations, including stroke.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be expected to contribute to the ongoing research projects in rehabilitation of impaired hand function after stroke via innovative interventions, such as breathing-controlled electrical stimulation. A successful candidate should have a recent PhD degree in rehabilitation engineering, rehabilitation science, biomedical engineering, or related fields. Proficiency in LabView and MatLab and experience with experimental studies of movement neuroscience are required. Experience with clinical studies, good English and communication skills are desired.
The position is available immediately. The initial appointment is for one year with a possibility of extension and promotion. Salary depends on the experience. Positions will remain open until filled.
