    The Department of Veterans Affairs Rehabilitation Research & Development Center of Excellence for Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering (Seattle, WA) has a position open for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in biomechanics and robotics. The appointment will be made through the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Washington. The candidate will work at the Veterans Affairs Hospital under the guidance of Dr. Aubin.

    This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, Robotics, Mechatronics or a related field. The candidates should have a strong interest in working with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, orthopeadic surgeons, clinicians, biomechanists, physical therapists, bioengineers, etc.) and will be expected to publish scholarly papers, attend conferences, assist with grant writing, as well as mentor undergraduate and graduate students. The major responsibility of the successful applicant will be to conduct scientific research within one of the following areas:

    1.) Lower limb targeted muscle reinnervation.
    2.) Lower limb powered prosthetics.
    3.) Gait analysis, biomechanics, and rehabilitation.
    4.) Biomechatronics and wearable robotics.
