Position description
The Institute of Sport Sciences of the University of Lausanne (ISSUL, Department of Physiology, Faculty of Biology and Medicine, Switzerland) invites applications for a Ph.D. position in the area of energetics and mechanics of locomotion. Ph.D. thesis will focus on the effects of different types of intervention (physical training, bariatric surgery, etc.) on the energetics and mechanics of walking and metabolism in obese individuals. Research will be done under supervision of Dr Davide Malatesta.
Contract duration: 1 year + 2 x 2 years (maximum duration 5 years).
Extent: 80% [60% for research activities and 20% for teaching activities (bachelor degree)].
Location: ISSUL and Department of Physiology (University of Lausanne, UNIL).
Qualifications
Qualified individuals should have obtained MSc in Sport Sciences or related field.
We are looking for a motivated, self-sufficient and creative individual with strong background in exercise physiology and energetics and biomechanics of human locomotion and fluent in English and French (not mandatory since there is a possibility to learn or improve French language during the first year). Having high computer-programming skills is appreciated.
