Department of Health and Kinesiology
Georgia Southern University – College of Health and Human Sciences
Regular, limited-term faculty position for the 2014-2015 Academic Year
Reporting to the Chair of Health and Kinesiology, duties of the successful candidate will include, but not be limited to:
a. Teach graduate level courses in the MS in Kinesiology – concentration in Athletic Training
b. Serve as interim program coordinator for the graduate Athletic Training program
c. Maintain excellent communications with the Georgia Southern University Athletic Training Department
d. Recruit qualified students for GA positions for the graduate Athletic Training program
e. Mentor graduate students by assisting with research and thesis completion.
Required Qualifications:
• Earned doctorate in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training or related field prior to appointment date
• Commitment to teaching, scholarship, and service that is consistent with the College’s priorities for the Department and the mission of the University
• Ability to contribute to a positive work environment in the Department, College, and University
• Technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology in teaching and scholarship
• Minimum of 2 years of college/university teaching experience and a record of excellence in teaching, and potential for research/scholarship
Preferred Qualifications:
* NATA-BOC certified and eligible for State of Georgia licensure
* Minimum of one year of college/university teaching experience in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training field is preferred
* Interest in working in diverse academic and professional communities
