We are looking for an excellent candidate who will undertake a PhD on the development of a classification of non specific low back pain (LBP) based on biomechanical and neuromuscular data.
The PhD position is part of an interdisciplinary project which brings together two research teams in health sciences (Willy Taillard Laboratory of Kinesiology, Medicine Faculty, University of Geneva and AGIM Laboratory, University Grenoble) with an expertise in biomechanics and neurosciences.
The position is funded for three years with a standard salary for doctorate students in France.
The successful candidate will be in charge of establishing and achieving an original protocol to perform multi-factorial evaluations of LBP patients, including an investigation of the 3D kinematic of back movements and electromyography, establishing and validating a classification of LBP in order to link the heterogeneous collected data to identify possible causes of LBP identified as non-specific.

The idea candidate will have:
- A very solid background in human movement science, biomechanics, neuroscience.
- A MSc in Human movement science, kinesiology, physiotherapy.
- Experiences with motion capture and EMG
- Experiences in patient evaluation
- Programming skills in Matlab or equivalent.
- Fluency in English and French.
- Team work capacity.
- Experiences or interest in signal processing and advanced statistical analysis method will be a plus.
