The incumbentis expected to work on research projects currently funded by NSF and NIH. Theresearch interest of our lab currently lies in the understanding of multiscalestructure-function relationship of bone (from nano to macro) and the underlyingmechanisms of age and disease related bone fragility fractures.

We expect candidatesto be highly motivated, self-sufficient, and creative with strong background inmechanics and familiar with experimental techniques in characterization ofmaterials from nano to macro length scales (e.g. NMR, FTIR/Raman, X-rayDiffraction, Mechanical Testing, etc.). Previous experience in research on boneis desirable. This position requires working in a team with collaborating investigatorsfrom the UT Health Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Some research projects mayrequire travel to national laboratories to conduct experiments. Forinternational candidates, fluency in English is required.
