    General Description
    We are seekingcandidates for a PhD graduate assistant position in the Hard TissueBiomechanics Laboratory at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The incumbentis expected to work on research projects currently funded by NSF and NIH. Theresearch interest of our lab currently lies in the understanding of multiscalestructure-function relationship of bone (from nano to macro) and the underlyingmechanisms of age and disease related bone fragility fractures.

    Qualification
    We expect candidatesto be highly motivated, self-sufficient, and creative with strong background inmechanics and familiar with experimental techniques in characterization ofmaterials from nano to macro length scales (e.g. NMR, FTIR/Raman, X-rayDiffraction, Mechanical Testing, etc.). Previous experience in research on boneis desirable. This position requires working in a team with collaborating investigatorsfrom the UT Health Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Some research projects mayrequire travel to national laboratories to conduct experiments. Forinternational candidates, fluency in English is required.
