We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join the innovative and diverse biomechanics community at the Structure and Motion Laboratory to join an ERC funded project exploring the evolution of frog hind limb function. Your part in this project will be to investigate how the synergistic dynamical actions of limb and pelvis muscles enable locomotor multi-functionality.

You will work with the Principal Investigator, Dr Chris Richards, as part of a multidisciplinary team of biologists and engineers. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the Richards team to gain novel insights through a unique integration of in vivo and in vitro muscle physiology with whole-body dynamics. You will greatly benefit from the unique opportunity to work alongside team members experienced in areas including evolutionary biology, computer simulation and robotics towards challenging, innovative and high-impact science.

You should have a PhD, desirably in a biological science discipline and experience of zoology and experience in biomechanics. You should have good organisational and interpersonal skills, be able to work with minimum supervision and have a strong enthusiasm for learning and developing innovative methods.
We offer a generous reward package.
