The Hard Tissue Biomechanics Laboratory at the University ofTexas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow inhard tissue biomechanics and/or nanocomposite. The position is supported by NIH grants throughthe Department of Mechanical Engineering at UTSA.
This position requires a Ph.D. degree in MechanicalEngineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Biophysics, Bioengineering, or arelated field and willingness to conduct research in a multidisciplinary environment(engineers, biologist, clinicians, biophysicists, etc.). The incumbent isexpected to lead the research projects, mentor undergraduate and graduatestudents, attend conferences, write grants, and publish high quality papers. Applicantswith the experience in one or more of the following research areas arepreferred:
1) Structure-function relationship of mineralized tissues.
2) Computational biomechanics.
3) Bioinspired nanocomposite.
4) Nanomechanics of biological materials.
