A funded post-doctoral research associate position is available in the newly formed Motion Biomechanics Laboratory in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Texas A&M University. This position is for one year, with the possibility of a second year conditional upon performance. The general focus of the lab is to study of the dynamics and neuromuscular control of human movement using both human subjects experimentation and computer simulation. Current projects aim to understand factors that affect human balance and contribute to falls, and to develop strategies for fall prevention. Primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will be to contribute to a project involving balance training among older adults, help setup the lab and make it fully operational, identify new projects, mentor students, publish, attend conferences, and aid in grant writing.

Applicants should have a PhD in biomechanics or related discipline, and experience with motion analysis and force platforms. Complementary skills are desirable, but not required. Applicants should expect to work hard, be productive, and have fun along the way.

Women and under-represented minorities are encouraged to apply.

Please address questions and applications to the email address below. To apply, please email a letter describing research experience, career goals, curriculum vitae, desired start date, and names and contact information of three references.
