The Computational Medicine and Biology (CMB) Division of CFD Research Corporation (CFDRC) is developing software tools for research projects funded by DARPA, DoD, NIH, FDA, and others. Main focus is in the development of multiscale mathematical models of human body to study biomechanics and physiology. This is an exceptional opportunity to be a part of new research frontiers with rapidly growing business and opportunity of advancement.
Job Description
As a part of this program, the candidate will be involved in modeling and simulation of human biodynamics and physiology (e.g. human movement and energetics, musculoskeletal fatigue/pain/injury, thermal discomfort, ballistic or blast impacts/injury/protection, etc.). The job responsibilities include:
● Development or improvement of human musculoskeletal models and simulation of human whole-body or segment (e.g. neck, shoulder) motions.
● Formulation and implementation of mathematical models of human anthropometry, biomechanics and physiology.
● Participation/leadership in military medicine projects.
Desired Skills
● M.S. or Ph.D. in mechanical/biomedical engineering, or a related field
● Good knowledge and prior experience in musculoskeletal modeling and simulation
● Experience in human motion prediction or control is a plus
● Experience in numerical methods and optimization
● Knowledge on finite element analysis is a plus
● Good programming skills is a plus
