    The School of Medical Sciences encompasses the disciplines of Anatomy and Pathology, Pharmacology and Physiology. It is one of eight schools in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The school offers a supportive environment where students and staff are nurtured to reach their full potential and where excellence in research and teaching is fostered.

    The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) to teach in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in exercise science, and to pursue internationally competitive research in motor control and/or exercise physiology. Preference will be given to candidates that are able to play a major role in undergraduate teaching in motor behavior (including motor control, learning and skill acquisition), and have research interests that align with existing strengths in human movement and exercise performance within the Discipline of Physiology.
    Salary: (Level B) $86,147 to $102,302 per annum.
    Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% may apply.
    Term of position: This continuing position is available from 5 January 2015.

    Position requirements
    To be successful you should have:
    * A completed higher degree (PhD or equivalent) in exercise science (or closely related area), with a primary focus on motor control and/or exercise physiology.
    * A demonstrated commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching in exercise science, including preparation and delivery of lectures to students.
    * Clear potential for developing a research program competitive for national and/or international grant funding as Chief Investigator.
    * The ability to pursue research in exercise science that is aligned with at least one of the research strengths in the Discipline of Physiology.
    * Currently hold (or have the ability to obtain) accreditation in Exercise Science by Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
