We are seeking two enthusiastic and dynamic people to teach a broad range of courses for undergraduates in Mechanical Engineering. We are looking for one applicant with specialization in the fluid and thermal systems area and another in the mechanics, structures and systems area. Candidates should demonstrate the following abilities: to innovate and adopt various teaching methods in the classroom; develop and teach suitable labs; to use and integrate software for in-class instruction, homework and projects; to involve and guide undergraduate students in applied research and capstone design projects.
They will develop a personal research agenda and be willing to collaborate with other faculty in the Division and campus. They will have opportunities to be part of the new Berks Human Movement Research Center. Application should demonstrate potential for research and publication. Qualified candidates will possess potential for outstanding teaching, research, advising and service.
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to teach three courses (approximately 9 credits) a semester. In addition, the candidate will be required to advise students and serve on department, college and university committees, among other activities.
Application review will begin November 1, 2014, and continue until the position is filled.
