    As The CORE Institute continues to grow, we are currently seeking a full-time Research Engineer to join our team of professionals at our North Phoenix Research Lab. She/he will be expected to perform testing of cadaveric joints and biological tissues in order to evaluate surgical techniques and medical devices. In addition, they will disseminate research through publications and conference presentations. The applicant may be considered for a “Sr. Research Engineer” position based on experience and skill set. The decision would be at the discretion of the Director of Research.

    Primary Job Responsibilities:
    · Develop new and innovative test equipment in the biomechanical testing lab.
    · Integrate mechanical and electronic systems and conduct day to day biomechanical testing in the laboratory
    · Build electro-mechanical test equipment
    · Integrate testing hardware and software control systems
    · Program testing platforms
    · Perform in-vitro biomechanical testing
    · Analyze data and prepare reports

    Requirements:
    · Education: Minimum B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Bioengineering with 3-4 years of experience; M.S. preferred (w/ 1-2 years experience).

    Knowledge:
    - Experience in the following computer software: LabVIEW (CLAD Preferred - basic knowledge), MatLab, CAD (Solidworks), and MS Office
    - Basic software/subroutine design for control systems
    - Human anatomy with primary focus on the musculoskeletal system; basic medical terminology
    - Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
    - Experience with biomechanical testing and control systems programming.

    Abilities:
    - Ability to work with groups and meet deadlines for individual tasks
    - Hardware assembly (soldering/cabling/welding)
    - Documentation: Maintain lab manuals and document software development

    Skills:
    - Musculoskeletal biomechanics
    - Understanding of control systems and electrical design including analog signal recording, DIO, filtering/real-time data processing
    - Basic robotic control
