  • Assistant Professor of Prosthetics and Orthotics

    The University of Hartford’s Department of Rehabilitation Sciences seeks qualified applicants to fill a full time, academic year clinical position as Assistant Professor. This position is dedicated to the delivery of a high quality education to students in the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics (MSPO) and the Transitional MSPO programs.     Qualifications
    The successful applicant must have graduated from an accredited prosthetics and orthotics program, have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in the field and must demonstrate strong interest in research. Orthotists and/or prosthetists must be certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics and hold a minimum of a master’s degree. Applicants with diverse backgrounds and interest in training underrepresented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

    Responsibilities
    The individual selected will be expected to work collaboratively with other faculty members in the Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics programs. S/he is expected to teach courses in prosthetics or orthotic specialties. Preference will be given to those candidates with material science expertise. Additionally the candidate must have a scholarly agenda, participate in professional and academic service, and maintain clinical competency. Administrative/leadership opportunities may exist in these growing programs.
