The Department of Exercise Science and Sport (EXSC) at the University of Scranton is now accepting applications for two nine-month, tenure-track, open rank positions to begin Fall 2015. The successful candidates will teach courses within the EXSC program. Immediate needs include the following courses: Intro to Sports Physiology, Exercise Testing and Programming, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Advanced Physiology of Sport and Exercise, or Research Methods. Applicants with expertise in the fields of anatomy, biomechanics, or sports medicine are also desirable as these courses may change depending upon the applicant's area of expertise.The successful candidate is expected to maintain a productive research agenda in addition to teaching responsibilities and service to the University, local, and professional communities.

The clinical track prepares students for careers in health-related fields and graduate education in allied health professions (Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, etc.) while the Pre-health track is designed for pre-med students. The new Center for Rehabilitation Education, which will house the departments of Exercise Science and Sport, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, will be completed in July 2015. Spaces for the education of Exercise Science students include the Physiology and Cardio Lab, a Strength Lab, a Human Motion Lab, and a Body Composition Analysis Laboratory. Shared spaces include a Kinesiology and CPR Practice Lab and a Gross Anatomy Laboratory.
