    Integrative Physiology and Health Science Faculty Position

    Assistant Professor with an emphasis in Motor Behavior/Motor Control, Tenure-Track

    The Department of Integrative Physiology and Health Science (IPHS) at Alma College (Michigan) invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Motor Behavior/Motor Control. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position beginning August, 2015.

    The successful candidate will: 1) demonstrate commitment to quality undergraduate education through excellent teaching within the classroom and quality advising/mentoring of students; 2) pursue an externally recognized research agenda engaging undergraduate students in the research process; and 3) demonstrate commitment to institutional service activities.

    Teaching responsibilities will include participation in the two-semester Human Physiology sequence; Human Anatomy; Biomechanics; an upper level course in Motor Control/Behavior. Full-time teaching load is six courses per year; salaries, benefits, and support for professional development are competitive.

    We seek a teacher/scholar to compliment departmental strengths through expertise in areas such as motor development, learning or control of movement throughout the lifespan, rehabilitation in movement disorders, or sports related concussion. It is expected that the faculty member’s research agenda will be amenable to active engagement of undergraduate researchers, a major emphasis within the department.

    An earned Doctorate in Exercise Science Kinesiology, or Physiology prior to appointment date is required.
