An opportunity has arisen for a Research Fellow to join the School of Applied Sciences at London South Bank University. The post holder will work closely with staff and academics in the School (primarily Professor Raymond Lee, Dean of School and Professor of Biomechanics) to develop and conduct research in spine biomechanics with special emphasis on ageing. We are interested in studying the effects of exercise on the risk of vertebral fractures and sacropenia, and the biomechanical consequences of overweight and obesity. We are also keen to develop innovative technologies for monitoring the level of physical activity in the older people. You will be part of an academic team which has an excellent track record of research, and this will be an ideal opportunity for a researcher who wants to develop a career in ageing research.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, bioengineering or a related area, with a good record of research publications. Experience with biomechanical modelling and/or inertial sensors will be particularly useful.
The post is full time and fixed term for three years.
