The Biomechanics program at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville is offering a graduate assistantship for our Biomechanics PhD program for Fall 2015. The funded positions will be teaching lab sections of biomechanics and/or applied anatomy. Motivated students with a thesis in the master degree program in biomechanics/kinesiology, biomedical engineering, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Current research in the Biomechanics/Sports Medicine Lab focuses on gait biomechanical characteristics and management of knee osteoarthritis and total knee replacement, lateral ankle sprains and mechanisms, impact loading attenuation and injuries in landing activities, and biomechanical functions of athletic footwear and medical orthoses/braces.
The Biomechanics Laboratory is housed in a facility of 3,000 square feet and is equipped with biomechanical systems for 3D kinematics, kinetics, EMG and other types of applications. Additional information about the lab, equipment, and faculty may be found on the web:
