I'm posting this on behalf of my colleagues in the new BME program at Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama. They are starting a BME undergrad program this spring semester with plans to grow. They are looking for people with a background in biomechanics to help round out the current faculty. This could be in tissue biomechanics, implant design, human locomotion, etc. There is the possibility for research lab space and start-up funds for qualified individuals.
All queries should be sent to the program's director, Dr. Derrick Dean, ddean@alasu.edu
More information about the BME program can be found here;
The announcement can be found here;
Note: the salary indicated is completely incorrect. The salary should be listed as "negotiable".
My advice, if you decide to apply to this position, please send an email to Dr. Dean indicating you applied. The screening process at HR can be pretty specific and sometimes qualified applicants don't make to the search committee but if Dr. Dean knows you applied he can be looking for your application in HR. I would also recommend including a teaching and research statement along with your CV when you send the additional email to Dr. Dean.
