The Engineering Biomechanics Group at UFMG is opening a position for a post-doctoral grant. Candidates should perform computational biomechanics mechanics research in the field of modeling of health related problems in dentistry and soft tissues at the Structural Engineering Department at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (Federal University of Minas Gerais), in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil.

This research is funded by the Brazilian funding agency CNPq (www.cnpq.br) and involves two projects:
(1) Palatal expansion finite element simulation,
(2) modeling of muscles in the orofacial structures.
Position
The postdoctoral position is for one year extensible to two years. The projects involve cooperation with other research groups in Latin and North America, as well as with Europe.
Education
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in Computational Solid Mechanics. Experience in research fields related to biomechanics would be preferred.
Salary
The monthly grant is equivalent to R$ 4100,00 (four thousand one hundred reais), currently corresponding to US$1600,00. It also includes additional R$400,00 a month for research expenses.
