Research Assistant Positions in Concussion Research - Georgia Southern University
Position Description. Reporting to Dr. Nicholas Murray, the Research Assistant will be responsible for recruitment, data collection and dissemination.
In addition, the successful candidate will maintain other duties as assigned in accordance with the 20 hour per week appointment. The RA will work directly
with individuals who experience concussions on ongoing lab projects that include postural control, oculomotor and visual system deficits, gait, and concussion education.
The RA will receive full tuition waivers and a healthy stipend.
Required Qualifications:
• Earned bachelor degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology/Athletic Training/Bio-medical Engineering or related field prior to
appointment date.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of employment without
assistance from the institution.
• Must maintain full-time status in the Masters of Exercise Science Program at Georgia Southern University.
• Technological literacy and a commitment to integrate technology in assigned duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Minimum of one year of college/university research experience in a biomechanics lab.
• Familiar with Vicon Motion Capture Systems, Force Platforms, Electromyography, and other biomechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft programs and MatLab.
• Willingness to aid in writing conference abstracts and peer reviewed publications.
Screening of applications begins immediately and continues until the position is filled. The
position starting date is August 1, 2015. Although, options exist for a June start date to assist in ongoing lab work. A complete application consists of a letter addressing

This position is dependent upon acceptance to the Masters of Exercise Science Program. Minimum of 2.75 GPA and competitive GRE scores.
