If so, the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse (UW-L) Physical Therapy Program encourages you to apply for a 12-month full-time Non-Instructional Academic Staff Research Program Manager position.
Research Program Manager is responsible for the direct supervision and the daily operations of the Biomechanics Laboratory. In addition, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, coordinate and manage research activities and to ensure a positive learning environment for faculty and students who use the facilities. The position requires an individual who can work independently and collaborate with a team of faculty and students, assist in all aspects of research (grant writing, manuscript development, collection and analysis of data), develop applications software in MATLAB or other software. This individual will demonstrate knowledge and working expertise in the operation of all pieces of equipment including a Motion Analysis System, Force Platforms, Electromyography, and Pressure Measurement Systems as well as any future equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will provide instructional support in Basic Science and Research coursework.
Required Criteria: The successful candidate must:
· Have a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanics or related field.
· Have experience in Motion Analysis and computer programming.
Desired Criteria: The successful candidate should display the following:
· Application of motion analysis in clinical populations and laboratory management experience.
· Working knowledge of major laboratory equipment, specifically optical Motion Analysis Systems, Force platforms, Electromyography, and Pressure Measurement Systems.
· Programming skills in MATLAB or other software.
· Ability to use Cortex, Visual 3D, Motion Monitor, and other applications software.
· Some laboratory based teaching and mentoring is desirable.

The Physical Therapy Program is part of the College of Science and the Health and Department of Health Professions. Other programs in the Department of Health Professions include Medical Dosimetry, Nuclear Medicine Technology, Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant and Radiation Therapy. Our program consists of 11 dynamic core faculty and a strong complement of adjunct faculty. We are committed to mentoring and supporting new faculty in areas of teaching, scholarship and, service.
The PT Program is located in the Health Science Center (HSC), recognized for its spacious, well-appointed teaching labs and classrooms and established biomechanics, human performance and anatomy laboratories Our PT Program has strong alliances with national, regional, and local medical centers and practices. Relationships with the La Crosse Institute of Movement Science (LIMS), the Gundersen Lutheran Sports Medicine Residency Program and the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium create a dynamic environment for academic and clinical professionals.
