An exciting opportunity has arisen, within the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, to join a dynamic and growing team providing high quality technical support and clinical supervision in the Department of Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation, at our Luton Campus.
The post is a full time (1.0FTE) permanent appointment in which you would be expected to contribute to the technical work of the Department, while maintaining your professional development within the University and/or maintaining external professional networks and relationships.
Successful applicants should have a first degree in sports therapy (or a related discipline). Additionally the successful applicant should have:
* A clear understanding of sports physiology and biomechanical laboratory methods
* Recent experience of offering technical support in a sport science/sports therapy laboratory within a Higher Education environment
* An appreciation and experience of Health and Safety issues, including experience of carrying out risk and COSHH assessments
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a highly organised and flexible approach to work
* The skills of a team player who can demonstrate ability to work independently and resolve problems effectively, combined with the skills of a team leader who can motivate and guide others
* Excellent personal organisation and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently and forward plan
* Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people
* Proficient in IT skills especially MS Office
* A high quality customer-focused approach to the support of staff and students
* Adaptability and flexibility in dealing with workload
