The Exercise and Sport Science (EXSS) unitwithin the Department of Health and Sport Sciences (HSS) at The University of Memphis is currently seeking Master’s-level graduate assistants in the areas of research and teaching beginning fall 2015. Research assistantships areavailable for well-qualified students to work within department laboratories and directly with a faculty mentor. Teaching assistantships are available for well-qualified students to provide instruction within undergraduate courses. Assistantships are typically nine months (with some very limited options for summer employment), and include a monthly stipend and full tuition waiver for the fall and spring semesters.
The Department of HSS provides students with aquality education focused on the fundamental principles of exercise, health, nutrition, physical activity, leisure and sport, while equipping them with the cutting-edge knowledge and skills needed to fulfill leadership roles in their chosen area of specialty. Within the EXSS unit there are specialties in biomechanics, physiology, nutrition, and strength & conditioning.
