  • Sports Biomechanist at the American Sports Medicine Institute

    From baseball to golf, from youth to professionals, overuse injuries in sports are everywhere, and the American Sports Medicine Institute (www.asmi.org) is right in the middle of finding solutions. ASMI is a non-profit institute with a mission to improve the understanding, prevention, and treatment of sports-related injuries through research and education.

    ASMI is currently seeking a sports biomechanist to join our team in conducting biomechanical research as well as evaluating baseball pitchers and other athletes. This is a permanent, full-time position in Birmingham, Alabama.

    The successful applicant should have a master’s degree in biomechanics or a related field. Experiences with motion capture and digitizing (such as Cortex by Motion Analysis Corporation), programming (such as MatLab, C++, or Sky Script), scientific publication, statistics, and working with athletes are preferred.

    This is a permanent, full-time job at ASMI in Birmingham, Alabama.

    Hi all,

    I hope those of you in the Northeast U.S. aren't under too much snow. Not a flake on the ground here in Birmingham, Alabama.

    We have received several qualified applications. We will leave the posting open for another week or so.

    Some have asked whether a person who is finishing his/her master's degree this semester is eligible to apply. If you are completing your master's degree this semester, you are eligible to apply.
