Multiple positions as Research Fellow (RF, postdoc) or Research Associate (RA, Ms degree holder) are available in the context of the 'H-Man' project at the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore
The 'H-Man' Project: H-Man is a novel, cable-driven, planar manipulandum originally devised for experiments in Neuroscience.
More details of the robot can be found here:
Its potential use in stroke rehabilitation is currently being tested in a battery of clinical trials.
The project started in Aug 2013 and is in collaboration with the Tan Tock Seng hospital (TTSH), in Singapore, and with the Imperial College London (ICL), UK. Currently we have a first prototype being tested in a clinical Pilot study involving stroke patients.
Profile 1
A Research Associate or Research Fellow is sought to supervise clinical trials involving the H-Man. The ideal candidate should hold a degree in areas related to Robotics or Human Motor Control or Biomechanics with substantial and demonstrated clinical experience with neurologically impaired subjects. Clinical experience with rehabilitation of the upper limb in stroke patients / elderly population is highly preferred.
Profile 2
Multiple positions are available at Research Associate and/or Research Fellow level to develop novel control strategies for the H-Man. The ideal candidate should hold a Master Degree and demonstrated experience in robotics/mechatronics design. Experience in human-robot interaction experiments is highly preferred.
