The West Virginia University Department of Human Performance & Applied Exercise Science is recruiting for one fulltime
(tenure or clinical track) position in Physical Therapy at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Rank and
salary are negotiable and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Successful Candidates:

1. Must hold a research-based Doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, or equivalent) or be willing to pursue doctoral
education. Candidates may hold a DPT or an advanced Masters degree in Physical Therapy, ABPTS Clinical
Specialization (OCS or SCS), and a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience. Candidates who do not hold a
Physical Therapy degree must have a PhD in biomechanics.

2. Must have the potential for scholarly publication and grant funding in an area that compliments the interest of
current PT faculty and fosters potential collaboration with faculty in the Department or School of Medicine.

3. Must have prior teaching experience or demonstrate the potential to provide high quality instruction to physical
therapy students. The candidate must be willing to team-teach in the DPT curriculum in one or more of the
following areas: gross anatomy, kinesiology, orthopedics, therapeutic exercise, or research methods.

4. Who hold a Physical Therapy degree must be eligible for West Virginia licensure and willing to participate in
the Division’s faculty practice.

5. Must be willing to participate in service activities including student advising and Division committees as
assigned by the chairperson.
