  • ‘Sports Vision’ PhD Opportunity

The School of Human Movement and Nutrition Sciences at The University of Queensland (UQ), in partnership with the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS), invite applications from highly-qualified individuals for a fully-funded PhD scholarship commencing in mid-2015 (start date negotiable). This unique position will blend theoretical and applied research to enhance our understanding of how traditional, generalised, and specific approaches to vision and perceptual training influence decision making, reaction time, and skill execution in sport.

This opportunity is open to Australian and New Zealand citizens (or residents) who possess a relevant first class honours (or equivalent) and/or Master’s degree in a field related to the project (e.g., skill acquisition, psychology). The successful applicant must meet all UQ requirements for admission. Applications, including: a brief introductory letter, a current academic CV, and academic transcripts should be submitted to derek.panchuk@ausport.gov.au by Friday 3 April. For further information about the research, please contact Dr Derek Panchuk.

Here’s a link to the PhD advertisement available on the AIS website:
Sport Australia is determined to have more Australians participating and excelling in sport, from grass-roots right up to the pinnacle of elite competition.
