The Movement & Applied Imaging Lab in the Division of Physical Therapy, College of Health Professions at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, SC is seeking a full-time research specialist for immediate hire. This position comes with full-benefits.
The candidate will assist the principal investigator in the recruitment of research participants, the collection, management, and processing of data, and organizational tasks for research.
Requirements: A high school diploma and two years professional experience involving research, data management, and record keeping activities. A bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or other natural, life or health care science, with mathematics and or statistics courses, may be substituted for the required work experience.
A bachelor’s degree in exercise science, health science, or similar field would be preferred. Experience with Matlab and/or Labview programming preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Collect, analyze, synthesize, and disseminate research data (45%)
2. Use computer software packages (e.g. Matlab, LabView. Visual3D, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, SPSS, etc.) in the analysis and presentation of data (20%)
3. Assist in the recruitment, screening, and informed consent of of subjects (15%)
4. Develop procedures for the management, verification and maintenance of program data (10%)
5. Prepare subject remuneration forms and coordinate payment through the Grants Administrator (5%)
6. Perform other research-related duties as assigned (3%)
7. Maintain research supplies (2%)
