    Instructor, Kinesiology Programs


    Washington State University is a major research university where teaching, research and service are all highly valued. The Kinesiology Programs are housed within the Department of Educational Leadership, Sport Studies and Educational/Counseling Psychology in the College of Education. Sport Science, Athletic Training, and Health and Fitness teaching make up the Kinesiology programs. WSU is classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a Doctoral-Research-Extensive Institution, and has three other campuses in addition to the Pullman campus (Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver).

    Position Description: The Kinesiology Programs are seeking applications for a clinical instructor in a temporary, non-tenure track, 9-month position with possibility of summer employment and possibility for renewal.

    We seek faculty members to join our faculty team who can teach in creative combinations of the following areas: Motor Development, Strength Training, Nutrition, Fitness, and Health and Wellness.

    In addition, possible teaching responsibilities include motor learning/control or physical education pedagogy (depending on candidate’s area of expertise and program area needs). We are open to a variety of combinations in teaching expertise to fill teaching needs in the area.

    Candidates must be able to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Kinesiology programs including participation in governance and student development. The position requires collaboration with faculty in all Kinesiology program areas (Sport Science, Athletic Training and Health and Fitness Teaching) who share core courses.

    Required Qualifications: Qualified candidates must : a) possess an earned Master's degree in a kinesiology related field (e.g., pedagogy, health, fitness, motor development), PhD’s also encouraged to apply; b) demonstrate successful college teaching in motor development, health and wellness, fitness and/or other sub disciplines of exercise and health science.
