Salary (Grade R1): £33,508 - £36,399 per annum incl. of London Weighting
Full-time, fixed-term for 9 months
The Division of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences in the Department of Life Sciences, is seeking a suitably qualified Biomechanics Post-Doctoral Research Fellow for a 9 month appointment. The research fellow will conduct innovative and pioneering projects in the area of musculoskeletal Biomechanics and will also assist with the development of the Biomechanics lab and the supervision of postgraduate projects. Our research is aligned with two themes of the Environment, Health and Societies Research Institute: (1) Healthy Ageing and (2) Biomedical Engineering and Healthcare Technologies.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline such as Biomechanics, Bioengineering or Biomedical Engineering. They will have the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team; experience of undertaking research and acquiring and analysing research data in the areas of Biomechanics and in particular musculotendon mechanics using ultrasound, motion analysis and isokinetic dynamometry; and a track record of peer reviewed publications. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic researcher to contribute to innovative and pioneering projects in the area of musculoskeletal Biomechanics.
