    The Department of Physical Therapy at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) is seeking an individual as an Assistant/Associate Professor (Tenure Track) with Orthopedic training.

    The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service at the graduate (DPT) level. Responsibilities include: 1) Teaching in Musculoskeletal courses in the DPT curriculum, with some time devoted to development and implementation of a transitional DPT program 2) Establishing a rigorous, research program in his/her area of expertise that involves peer –reviewed publication, mentoring of graduate students, collaboration with peers inside and outside of the department and 3) Service to the University, profession, and community.

    Qualifications: The candidate must hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree (or equivalent) and eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in North Carolina. The preferred candidate should have at least 3-5 years of teaching experience at the doctoral level, with evidence of a focused area of expertise in the area of musculoskeletal Physical Therapy. Experience in the development and/or implementation of transitional DPT programs is preferred.
    Experience: Crucial to this position is the demonstration of excellence in teaching in the classroom in the area of musculoskeletal physical therapy and effective communication skills. Knowledge and use of educational technology are also preferred skills for this position.
