At Nike, it’s about bringing what you have to a challenging and constantly evolving game.

The Applied Apparel Research Team in the NXT Sport Research Lab is seeking a Biomechanics Researcher-I for a newly created, multidisciplinary team of scientists. The team’s mission is to drive apparel innovation through knowledge and insights gained from a scientific understanding of athletes and their environment. The team’s research primarily focuses on supportive athletic apparel created for use before, during, and after activity (e.g., compression tights, sports bras).

Outstanding job performance will be characterized by:

    · Executing Innovative Research. This position requires making impactful contributions toward designing innovative research projects and, subsequently, executing the research (i.e., collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data)
    · Delivering Results. The position requires being proactive, accountable, and goal-oriented while managing multiple projects
    · Effective Communication. This position requires clear communication with scientists and non-scientists within a diverse product design & development team
    · Promoting a Collaborative Team Environment. The position is situated within a dynamic, team-focused environment and, therefore, requires a collaborative team player

Outstanding candidates will be characterized by:

    · Graduate education and research experience in biomechanics, including proficiency in all aspects of the scientific process (study conception, study logistics, protocol development, data collection, statistical analyses, and scientific communication) and the associated scientific tools (motion capture systems, force plates, accelerometers, EMG, VISUAL3D)
    · Computer programming skills (e.g., Matlab, Labview)
    · Previous experience with scientific techniques involved in measuring soft tissue biomechanics is preferred
    · Previous experience managing multiple projects (e.g., tracking deadlines & deliverables, updating teammates)
    · Previous experience communicating scientific topics to non-scientists
    · Previous experience working in a collaborative, team-focused environment
