The Orthopaedics/Biomechanical Engineering group at Griffith University are seeking to make a 2-year fixed-term postdoctoral appointment to implement a program of research in the area of orthopaedic implant design and testing. This will entail in silico and ex vivo cadaveric testing of new implants and orthopaedic surgical methods. We are currently commissioning a 6DOF robotic joint testing system which adds to the current strengths of the group in computational biomechanics. We have an urgent need to appoint. The group has secured 50% funding and the remaining 50% is subject to a competitive application process through the Griffith Postdoctoral Fellowship (GUPF) Scheme. Approximately 7-10 high quality co-authored publications would be expected to make an applicant competitive. ELIGIBILITY

1. Both non-residents and Australian citizens/residents may apply.
2. Recipients must reside in Australia for the full term of the Fellowship.
3. Holders of a Research Doctorate awarded not more than three years prior to the closing date of 12 June 2015 (i.e. awarded on or after 12 June 2012) are eligible to apply. Postdoctoral Fellows will be early career researchers who show potential to become leaders in their field.
4. Applicants must obtain the support of the Director of the Centre for Musculoskeletal Research, who must sign the application form to indicate support. Applicants are advised to contact the Research Centre as soon as possible to ensure they meet the Research Centre timelines for GUPF applications.

The person appointed will work in a cross disciplinary team environment and be willing to travel between collaborating institutions. Postdoctoral Fellows will be appointed within the salary range $76,776 to $79,600 (RF1.4 to 1.5) with superannuation benefits paid in addition to salary (17%).
