We are looking for an excellent candidate who will undertake a one-year Post-doc on the simulation of pathological gait.
The Post-Doc position is part of an interdisciplinary project, funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), which brings together two research teams in biomechanics and data-mining. The researcher will work at the University of Geneva / University Hospitals of Geneva in the Willy Taillard Laboratory of Kinesiology. (http://www.hug-ge.ch/chirurgie-ortho...e-cinesiologie).

The salary is currently at 68 964.00 CHF (66 000 Euros) and can be adjusted with the experience.
The successful candidate will work with 2 PhD students that will start their 3rd year of their PhD. The first PhD student works in biomechanics to characterise gait deviations due to contractures. The second PhD student works in data-mining to develop new learning methods to predict patient's gait patterns.
The aim of this Post-doc position will be to:
  • Link the results of the 2 PhD students to create a simulator of pathological gait,
  • Support the 2 PhD students in their experimentations and in disseminating research findings.


The ideal candidate will have:
  • Solid background in biomechanics and simulation,
  • Completed his/her PhD in the above areas less than 5 years ago,
  • Solid expertise in Matlab or Python,
  • Fluency in English,
  • Team work capacity,
  • Excellent written communication skills.


The additional skills and experience that will be considerate as a plus:
  • Good understanding of pathological gait,
  • Experience with motion analysis data collection/analysis,
  • Expertise with movement simulator software (OpenSim, AnyBody),
  • Knowledge in data-mining/machine learning,
  • Experience in website creation, HTML5, JavaScript,
  • Fluency in French.
