    The Julius Wolff Institute for Biomechanics and Musculoskeletal Regeneration within the Charité Center 09 (in co-operation with TU Berlin, Faculty V)


    The Charité seeks to fill this position with an outstanding, internationally recognized scientist. Candidates are expected to have a track record in research and proven success in obtaining third party funding. They must have an excellent track record in the field of modeling and numerical methods, preferably in tissue healing or similar disciplines aiming at a systems medicine perspective. The successful candidate is expected to take an active role in the recently established DFG research group “Regeneration in Aged Individuals: Using bone healing as a model system to characterize regeneration under compromised conditions” as well as the Berlin-Brandenburg Center Regenerative Therapies and the Berlin Institute of Health and in co-operation with TU Berlin. The successful candidate will be engaged in teaching activities of the DFG-funded graduate school Berlin-Brandenburg School for Regenerative Therapies (BSRT) and would be expected to contribute to the medical education curriculum at Charité and the biomechanics curriculum at TU Berlin, supervise Master and Doctoral candidates, and participate in academic self organization.

    The Julius Wolff Institute (JWI) of the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin conducts basic research and develops applications in the fields of orthopaedics and trauma surgery. It is tightly connected with the Center for Musculoskeletal Surgery. Among its most important research fields are biomechanics and regeneration of the musculoskeletal system as well as improvement of joint replacement


    • Appointment requirements are governed by article 102a of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz, Gem. § 102a BerlHG).
    • The initial appointment is for three years with the possibility for an extension for another three years following successful evaluation
    • Salary: W1 BBesG
