a phd position in kinesiology is available for fall 2016 in the motor learning and rehabilitation engineering lab (motre) directed by dr. Rajiv ranganathan. We are interested in using robotics and virtual reality to examine issues of motor learning and multi-joint coordination, with an emphasis on stroke rehabilitation. candidates with a background in human movement or robotics (kinesiology, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, psychology, rehabilitation or a related field) are encouraged to apply. Prior research experience with human subjects, biomechanical analysis, and matlab programming are highly desirable.

Resources in the lab include an 8-camera motion analysis system (motion analysis corporation, santa rosa, ca), a force plate (amti, watertown, ma) and a bimanual kinarm end point robot (bkin technologies, kingston, on).
