  • Positions on Imaging and Soft Tissue Biomechanics in Pittsburgh (USA)

The Laboratory of Ocular Biomechanics at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking candidates for a postdoc position on soft tissue biomechanics. Specifically, we are looking for candidates with experience in characterization of soft tissue structure and mechanics (experimental and/or numerical) and/or in imaging for biomechanics analysis (e.g. deformation tracking). The project goal is to develop methods for preventing vision loss in biomechanics-related diseases and to identify the optimal patient-specific course of treatment.
The candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong track record with peer-reviewed publications. No experience in ophthalmology is necessary. Experience with image registration from optical coherence tomography will be highly valued.

The incumbent will work within a collaborative team of students, engineers, clinicians and basic scientists, with high productivity and a strong record of funding from national and international sources. There will be opportunity for the incumbent to develop his/her own scientific ideas in the rich environment of the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.

Candidates should submit TWO representative publications and CV to ian@ocularbiomechanics.com. More details about the Laboratory of Ocular Biomechanics at www.OcularBiomechanics.com.

The University of Pittsburgh is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
