    FACULTY POSITION IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:The Department of Mechanical Engineering in the College of Engineering at the University ofTexas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track position to be filledby August 2016. Applications are sought at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor. TheDepartment of Mechanical Engineering is looking for outstanding individuals to be added to thegrowing faculty body in its teaching and diversified research programs. Applicants are sought inthe broad research area of Medical Device Design within Mechanical Engineering with subfieldsof interest to include, but not limited to: computer-aided design, biomechanical engineering,mechanoelectronics, surgical robotics, manufacturing, materials, micro and nano devices,wearable devices, and medical devices design and applications.

    The successful candidates are expected to build successful, externally-funded research programs.The candidates must be able to develop and teach innovative courses, supervise graduatestudents, obtain funding for their research programs, and communicate their research results inquality journals and at conferences. The ability to work collaboratively in research and teachingwith the other departments within the College of Engineering is required. Candidates must havea Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering or in a closely related field by thetime of employment. Candidates applying for the Associate Professor position must havedistinguished research records with significant extramural funding.

    The city of San Antonio is a vibrant city of more than 1.4 million inhabitants, with significanteconomic growth, numerous industrial establishments and excellent school districts. The Cityand the University provide excellent cultural and educational opportunities. The University hasmore than 30,000 students and is the third largest component in the University of Texas System.The Mechanical Engineering Department is housed within the College of Engineering withprograms at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels.

    Review of applications will begin on October 15, 2015 and will continue until the position isfilled. Applications received by October 15, will be considered fully. Applicants must submitthe following materials in a single PDF file:
