University of Hull - Sport, Health and Exercise Science

The Department of Sport, Health and Exercise Science is a thriving academic community that strives for excellence in its teaching and learning, research, and community engagement work. The Department has experienced considerable growth and investment in recent years and has outstanding teaching and research facilities.

The Department seeks to appoint a permanent staff member to its academic staff team in the area of Sport, Health and Exercise Biomechanics. Join our growing team and you will have the opportunity to teach/supervise at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels – at the same time developing your own career and research ambitions. In addition to delivering specialist teaching, you will supervise a wide range of research projects, conduct biomechanical research within clinical or applied sport and exercise settings, undertake departmental administrative duties and engage in appropriate training to further develop your teaching and research skills.

With a PhD in the area of sport and exercise biomechanics, or clinical biomechanics, and an emerging track record of publishing in an appropriate research field, you are expected to have some experience teaching at both undergraduate and possibly postgraduate levels. You will be a team player who is strongly committed to providing a high quality learning experience. Experience of the applied practice of sport and exercise, or clinical biomechanics is desirable. We are especially keen to hear from you if you are an Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist (Research, or Scientific Support) and/or with research interest in lower limb prosthetics, or EMG neuro-muscular analysis, and with an emerging or sustained track record of attracting external research funds. You will have a passion to engage in high-quality research and a desire to contribute to the Department's research agenda and engagement work. If you are ambitious, can contribute to the Department's vision and mission, and have the drive to take us forward, we would be delighted to hear from you.
