The College of Idaho seeks to fill a tenure-track position with a focus on human performance in our newly formed undergraduate Health and Human Performance department (http://www.collegeofidaho.edu/academ...an-performance). The department seeks a talented individual who is motivated to help shape the developing curriculum to best serve our students. Students in HHP can major in exercise physiology, human performance, or health sciences with additional minors available in coaching, physical education, and health promotion.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in biomechanics, exercise science, or a related field. This position will include teaching in the lower-division core curriculum in Health and Human Performance. Courses may include human anatomy and physiology with cadaver dissection, human health, and nutrition, as well as upper-division classes related to biomechanics and movement-related fitness.
Excellent teaching and mentoring of students are the highest priorities of the College; the successful candidate will also be an active scholar capable of developing a research program that involves undergraduate students. Modest start-up funds are available. Standard teaching load is 21 units, which includes one course in our intensive January term.
Qualifications: doctoral degree in an appropriate field, teaching experience preferred.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States as of the expected hire date and throughout the date of the contract without sponsorship from the College.
