Job Title and Description: ASSISTANT PROFESSOR – Research Methods and Statistics
Full-time, tenure eligible faculty position in the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences. This position is promotion-eligible with criteria related to teaching, scholarship, and service.

Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities involve teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in research methods and statistics within the Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences. A component of this position is teaching a two semester research team sequence which involves the development and advising of undergraduate student research projects. The desire and ability to serve on Master’s thesis committees is also an expectation in this position. Other expectations include sustained scholarly activity, teaching and academic advising excellence, and service to the college and relevant professional communities. Familiarity and/or experience in teaching other content areas within the Department (e.g., motor behavior, biomechanics, exercise physiology, sport/exercise psychology, athletic training, biostatistics, or evidence-based practice) is desirable.

Qualifications: Minimum of doctorate is preferred (ABD with completion of degree by December, 2016 will be considered) in an Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Health Sciences or related field with emphases in statistics or research methods. Evidence of college level teaching, and scholarly activity, is required. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are also required.

Department Description: The Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences at Ithaca College consists of 18 full time faculty and is housed in the Center for Health Sciences with state of the art facilities including a wellness clinic and 7,000 sq. feet of lab space for teaching and research in neuromuscular control, exercise physiology, biomechanics, anatomy & physiology and sport & exercise psychology. Undergraduate degrees are offered in Athletic Training, Sport Sciences, Medical Sciences, Clinical Exercise and Wellness, and Strength & Conditioning.
A Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences is also offered, with concentration areas in Sport Psychology, Human Performance and Exercise Physiology.
