Responsibilities*
The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is searching for a Research Investigator to undertake research in sports medicine in the laboratory of Dr. Asheesh Bedi. This Research Investigator will work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of surgeons and scientists who are conducting studies in musculoskeletal injuries in human subjects using biomechanical, neuromotor and biological techniques. The incumbent is expected to have a moderate background in statistics and other analytical techniques. Administrative duties include preparing and submitting grants, writing and editing manuscripts and book chapters, preparing IRB applications, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supervising students and staff.
Required Qualifications*
PhD in kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics or other speciality related to sports medicine. Previous history of publications in peer reviewed journals
Desired Qualifications*
Two years of postdoctoral work in area of research relevant to sports medicine; experience writing and administering grants; a clinical background in sports medicine, such as professional accreditation as an athletic trainer or physical therapist is desired.
