Postdoc Positions in Rehabilitation
Postdoctoral Positions – 1) biomechanical analysis with clinical background; 2) computational modelling for neuromuscular system.
The Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (NREL) at the UNC/NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for two positions of Postdoctoral Research Associate in the two areas: 1) biomechanical analysis with clinical background, 2) computational modelling for neuromuscular systems.
Position 1:
This research associate will conduct research projects associated with biomechanical and functional outcomes of lower limb amputees. A successful candidate should have a recent PhD degree in rehabilitation related fields. Proficiency in quantitative motion analysis is required. Previous PT background is preferred.
Position 2:
This research associate will construct computational models for neuromuscular systems of patients with disability. A successful candidate should have a recent PhD degree in rehabilitation related fields. Proficiency in musculoskeletal modeling is needed. Experience on human movement simulation is preferred.
As a part of UN/NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering, NREL is located inside the Research Triangle in North Carolina. Currently, our group investigates the control mechanism of neuromuscular systems in normal and neurologically-disabled individuals, develops advanced neural-machine interfacing technologies, and applies these techniques toward neural control of prosthetics, orthotics, computers, and other assistive devices. More details about our research can be found at our website: http://nrel.bme.ncsu.edu/
The initial appointment is one year and extendable based on performance and funding.
If you are interested, please submit your curriculum vitae, a 1-page research statement, selected publications, and three references to:nrel.ncsu@gmail.com.
