For the NFB-research project „IntelliGait: Automatic gait pattern analysis for robust classification of functional deficits“ at the Institute for Sciences and Services in Health as at the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies we are looking for an ambitious Junior Researcher (m/f) (30 h/week, limited from 1.3.2016 – 28.2.2019)
The research focus lies on the automatic analysis and the recognition of gait disorder. Based on the measured data from the gait laboratory the aim of the research project is to develope an automatic method for the classification of gait disorder.
Your responsibilities
Optional, but preferable: writing of a dissertation/PhD within the project (support by an university is given)

Your responsibilities
- Intense assistence and partial leadership of individual work packages in the research project IntelliGait
- Developement of methods for signal analysis of gait data (Feature Extraction, Feature Learning)
- Developement of methods for the automatic classification of gait disorder (Machine Learning)
- Writing and participation in scientific publications and presentations
- Collaboration with the apllication of new research projects
- A small extent in teaching
Optional, but preferable: writing of a dissertation/PhD within the project (support by an university is given)
Your qualification
- University degree (Mag./Master) in informatics or any compareable technical or scientific field of study
- Experience in scientific working and methods in statistical analysis
- Excellent knowledge of the areas of machine learning, signal processing and pattern recognition
- Excellent knowledge of Matlab, Python or any compareable coding language
- English (Ability to write scientific texts in english)
- Basics in written and spoken German
- Preferable: experience in autonomous publishing
- High interest in gait analysis and the fields of medicine, biomechanics, physiotherapy, sport science in general
- Ability to organise, motivated and autonomous way of working, ability to work in a team
