We are looking for Dutch-speaking PhD candidates with a background in Biomedical Engineering or Movement Sciences with a strong interest in biomechanics and orthopaedics.
The student would be based partly at the University of Leuven campus Kortrijk (Belgium) and partly at a company in Ghent (Belgium) with whom we have established a collaboration.
The candidate should thus also have affinity with or interest in commercialization and economic output of research activities, on top of the pure scientific interest.
The 4-year project (2016-2020) focusses on the investigation of the effectiveness of upper limb orthotics, using an integrated approach including medical imaging, modelling and simulations.
Candidates should send an e-mail to me (see below) to express their interest. Please note that funding still needs to be acquired for this project, but there is a high success rate for this type of application.
