PhD Position in Biomechanics at Laval University (Quebec city, Canada)
The University Laval and the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation and Social Integration (CIRRIS): http://www.cirris.ulaval.ca/fr or http://www.cirris.ulaval.ca/en) in Quebec city (QC, Canada) still have one funded position available to study the human biomechanics and the functional capacities of lower limb amputees. Specific projects will involve applying 3D motion analysis system (kinematics, kinetics,…) in a dynamic context of evaluation (level gait, stair ascent and descent, sit-to-stand,…) to better understand the difference in the evolution of lower limb amputees capacities.
Prior experience with human movement and/or 3D biomechanical data analysis is strongly desired. Computational skills and programming experience are a plus. Basic french skills are required.
Students will pursue degrees through the department of Kinesiology at Laval University.
If you are interested in learning more about, or applying for this position, please e-mail the following to Dre. Katia TURCOT (katia.turcot@kin.ulaval.ca): a letter of interest, a detailed CV (with list of publications), graduate scores and names of two individuals who can be contacted for references.
