Come to Elon University in North Carolina and join our highly qualified, dynamic faculty of 13 full-time and 5 part-time colleagues. The Department of Physical Therapy Education at Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position made available because of retirement. The department is interested in recruiting an individual who can demonstrate teaching experience in biomechanics/kinesiology and musculoskeletal physical therapy and has an ongoing research agenda related to biomechanics, rehabilitation/movement science, and/or motor control. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and department, school and university service.
The successful candidate will have:
· An academic terminal degree
· A record of teaching and scholarship
· Eligibility for licensure as a physical therapist in North Carolina
· A minimum of 5 years of clinical practice
· Experience in musculoskeletal physical therapy
· Active membership in professional organizations
Preferred candidates will also have:
· ABPTS or other specialty certification
· Prior teaching experience in an academic program
About the Department: In 2012, the Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) moved to the LEED-certified Gerald L. Francis Center where the newly formed School of Health Sciences is located. The DPTE occupies approximately 32,000 square feet with state-of-the-art equipment for teaching and research. The DPTE and the School of Health Sciences enjoy a strong collaborative partnership with Cone Health-Alamance Regional Medical Center.
