Motion Analysis Laboratory Kinesiologist or Physical Therapist, Shriners Hospitals for Children® - Spokane, WA
OPEN POSITION: Shriners Hospitals for Children®, Spokane, WA is seeking a full-time Kinesiologist or Physical Therapist to work in a state of the art Motion Analysis Laboratory. Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a pediatric specialty hospital offering high-quality orthopedic medical care to children and adolescents.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This core member of the Motion Analysis Lab team will provide clinical support by performing physical examinations, data collection, integration & interpretation of kinematic, kinetic, electomyographic and clinical data into a comprehensive report for treatment decision making. Duties will also include participation in gait and biomechanics research and providing education to the community and medical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements are a degree in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Science, a related discipline, or Physical Therapy. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in pediatric instrumented gait analysis as well as familiarity with Vicon motion capture systems or an M.S. in related field. Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in biomechanics of human movement, an aptitude for research, and a high comfort level with technology. Candidates should be detail oriented with strong computer skills.
FACILITIES: The existing Motion Analysis Laboratory was opened in 1996. Equipment includes a 12-camera Vicon Vantage system, 4 AMTI force plates, Motion Lab Systems surface electromyography instrumentation, RSSCAN foot pressure measuring system, and a Cosmed K4b2 portable oxygen consumption testing unit.
The city of Spokane is located in eastern Washington near many lakes and mountains with an abundance of outdoor activities.
